Life-Wild Learning Camp




Target Participants:

  • Age 12 or above


OBJECTIVES FOR STUDENTS:

  • Enhance personal growth and responsibility

  • Appreciate teamwork with differences in individual performance

  • Accept challenges, risk-taking, decision making & problem-solving

  • Increase awareness of environmental protection and appreciation of nature


Program:

  • Outdoor adventure-based education program, which includes team building activities, orienteering, camp cooking, and kayaking.

  • Pre-activity training for students

  • Pre-activity training and pre-trip for teachers

  • Pre-activity training briefing session for parents

  • Outdoor adventure-based learning camp

Manpower:

  • The instructors, facilitators, and staff are needed to run the program.

  • All instructors and staff speak fluent English

  • Staff-to-student ratio is 1:7 (Instructor-to-student ration is 1:10)


Members of staff involved in the program:

  • Hosts and coordinators to manage the whole program

  • Group Facilitators to take care of the campers closely and facilitate their learning

  • Instructors with specialized qualifications (e.g. Kayaking, Mountaineering)

  • Logistic helpers to support in food, equipment and other program materials


Equipment:

  • Camping equipment and program materials

  • All Meals during the program (including vegetarian diet and food allergies)

  • All Snacks during the program

  • Sufficient refill of drinking water during the program



Transportation:

  • Transportation from school to the Camping Site and back to school


Accommodation:  

  • Night stay in a tent camping facility for all participants, with tents provided

  • A sufficient number of instructors stay with students at night to provide adequate supervision


Remarks:

  • First-aid and rescue services for participants in case of injury and/or distress

  • The program and all activities to fulfill all requirements listed in the “Guidelines on Extra-curricular Activities in Schools” and “Guidelines on Outdoor Activities” published by the Education Bureau of The HKSAR Government

  • Insurance for students and staff
